The Helvetia is in a quiet position just outside Villabassa, surrounded by green meadows. The health park with Kneipp path; the tennis courts – open all year round; the centre of Villabassa; the bus stop (with services to Lake Braies, Val di Casies and Sesto), and the railway station (with trains to San Candido – Lienz, Fortezza, Bolzano – Innsbruck) are all within walking distance.

by public transport
Take an Intercity or Eurocity train to Fortezza, and then change onto the local train for San Candido. Villabassa station is just a few minutes’ walk from the town centre and the Helvetia Garni-Apartments.
With the Südtirol Transfer shuttle service
Travelling by train and bus is now even more convenient! The Südtirol Transfer shuttle will pick you up from the train or bus station and take you straight to the Helvetia. It will also take you back to the station on your day of departure, ensuring you get there on time. This is a paid service and must be booked online.
by plane
The nearest airports are at Bolzano (100 km), Innsbruck (A – 120 km), Klagenfurt (A – 195 km), and Verona (195 km). From there you can take a train, taxi, or the airport shuttle. If you want or need to travel by plane, we will be happy to organise a reasonably priced transfer service from those airports nearest the Helvetia.
